연혁과 주요활동
한국인도학회는 “인도 지역에 대한 학문적 차원의 지역연구와 인도 지역의 동향에 대한 시사분석을 심층적으로 수행하고 그 성과를 일반에게 보급함으로써 인도 지역연구 발전과 보급 및 한국-인도간의 평화적 상호교류의 증대에 기여”하기 위해 1991년 창립되었습니다.
2002년 5월 31일 외교통상부 산하의 사단법인으로 설립허가를 받음으로써 사단법인 한국인도학회로 명칭이 변경되었습니다.
사단법인 한국인도학회에서 발행하는 『인도연구』는 2006년 학술진흥재단의 등재후보지로 선정되었고, 2007년에 등재지가 되었으며 2017년 등재학술지 계속평가에서 우수한 성적으로 통과하였습니다.
History of KSIS
The “Korean Association for Indian Studies” was established in 1991, with the aim “to conduct academic research on the region of India and South Asia as well as analysis of current events in the area; to disseminate the results of such research and analysis to the Korean public and academia; and thus contribute to the studies on India and cultural exchange between the two countries of Korea and India.” It has been using the name “The Korean Society for Indian Studies” since 1995.
In 2002, the Society was acknowledged and granted permission as a Private Corporation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and changed its name to “The Korean Society for Indian Studies Co.”
The Journal of Indian Studies, the Society’s academic journal, was registered as a Candidate for Registered Journals of the Korean Research Foundation in 2006, and became a Registered Journal in 2007, passing the review in 2017.
주요활동
- 1) 전국 50여 개의 대학과 기관에 소속되어 있는 정회원과, 대학원 또는 기타 교육기관 에서 연구 중인 준회원이 인도와 관련된 연구 활동을 진행하고 있습니다.
- 2) 매년 2회 정기학술대회를 개최하고 있으며, 부정기적으로 국제학술대회, 전문가 포 럼 등을 개최하여 연구 성과를 발표하고 있습니다.
- 3) 회원들의 공동연구와 학술대회 및 워크샵의 연구성과를 바탕으로 한 전문학술지 『 인도연구』(연 2회)를 발간하고 있습니다. 2002년부터 2005년까지 인도 지역 동향을 분석 정리한 『인도 지역 동향』(년 2회)이 발행되었습니다.
- 4) 인도에 진출한 (또는 진출하려는) 기업, 국가기관, 그 외 단체들 및 개인들에게 인도의 실상을 소개하는 교육 프로그램을 실시하고 있습니다.
Main Activities
- (1) Full Members of the Society, dispersed in 50 universities and institutions, and Associate Members, associated with graduate schools and other educational institutions in Korea, are conducting research on the region of India and South Asia.
- (2) The Society organizes two regular conferences a year, and in addition, holds international conferences and specialists’ forums to present current research.
- (3) Twice a year the Society publishes The Journal of Indian Studies, incorporating the most current research presented at our conferences and workshops as well as through collaborative research. From 2002 to 2005, the Society also published Current Issues in India, a series of political, economic and social analysis of India.
- (4) The Society conducts educational sessions for Korean companies, government administrators, groups or individuals interested in India.
